Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said he was "not confident" to bring in other players before the transfer deadline Thursday at 17:00 WIB.
Mourinho has repeatedly expressed a desire to bring in additional players throughout the pre-season season with a central defender on his list.
However, although there are links with many targets, United have not strengthened it.
"The market is closed today. It's time for me to stop thinking about the market," he said.
"I'm not confident. I have to focus on the players I have and the next few matches."

United have signed three players this summer - Brazilian midfielder Fred for £ 47 million, Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot and third goalkeeper Lee Grant.
But Mourinho has been interested in further strengthening his team after they finished the second season last, 19 points behind champions Manchester City.
Despite speculation about the Tottenham deal with Toby Alderweireld, there is no offer from United, while Leicester remain determined to keep England international Harry Maguire, who has four more years on his contract.
The Portuguese manager must also face a series of senior player injuries during pre-season.
.
But he hopes that some of his World Cup players will be available with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini now back in training.
"People who played late at the World Cup were trained Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, today," he added.
"They are not healthy and ready but we have needs. Today I will talk with them to see how they feel they are."

On Sunday, Jose Mourinho said Manchester United would enter a "difficult season" if they failed to bring in other people.
He wanted another half of the center but there seemed to be no truth in the rumor that in the absence of alternatives, a late move for Kurt Zouma was imminent.
