Elizabeth good spoke out against the approaching unharness of 1 of her kidnappers, urging officers to rethink their call to unharness the girl from jail over 5 years prior to expected.
Originally set to stay behind bars till 2024, Wanda Barzee can walk out of jail next weekday due to a choice by the Mormon State parole board to count time .
During a press conference Thursday, good warned that Barzee remains a dangerous threat, despite the fifteen years she has spent behind bars.
“She may be a girl WHO had six kids and nonetheless may co-conspire to nobble a 14-year-old lady. And not solely sit next to her whereas being raped,
however encourage her husband to still rape American state,” good aforementioned. “So do i feel that she is dangerous? affirmative, however not simply to American state. i feel that she may be a danger and a threat to any vulnerable person in our community.”
In 2002, Barzee and her husband, Brian David Mitchell, abducted a teen good at knifepoint from the chamber of her family’s Salt Lake town home. good was raped and tortured nearly on a daily basis of the 9 months she was control captive.
Mitchell is currently serving a prison term.
Barzee, WHO pled guilty to state and federal charges for her role within the abduction, can have spent fifteen years in custody once she is free on Sept. 19.
